Recommendations from Fliplet

  1. If you are producing a web or mobile app, most require a user to sign up to:

    1. Identify the user

    2. Securely store a user’s settings

  2. As part of sign up, users need to accept terms of use, privacy policy, and sometimes an End User License Agreement (EULA) and disclaimer. These documents can include information about the cookies or tracking your app uses. This is standard practice for apps that require a user to sign up

  3. If your app is public, please be aware that an app is not the same as a website. Web sites usually have limited functionality and are primarily for static content. Apps are usually more interactive and dynamic. This means apps often need to store and track more information about a user to offer this functionality.

  4. Fliplet does not recommend disabling analytics on an app as it means the customer producing the app cannot view what their users have been doing

  5. Fliplet analytics has the ability to track individual users if your app has a login. You can disable this within Fliplet Studio if you do not want users identified in analytics.

  6. Fliplet has the ability for users to disable or enable analytics within the app by setting a variable with Javascript code. If you want to give users the ability to opt out of analytics you can use this feature. For more information see https://developers.fliplet.com/API/fliplet-core.html#enabledisable-tracking

    1. You can disable All, just Fliplet, or just Google analytics

    2. As you can modify the code and add additional data tracking or capture features to your app, Fliplet cannot be responsible for ensuring apps comply with all laws, and you must assess your app and ensure any data capture is legal
